2. Transformer Oil Reclamation (Regeneration) |
|
This is the process which removes the soluble and insoluble polar contaminants from the oil through Chemical and Physical processing [IEC60422-2005]. |

AYT has the capability of Oil Reconditioning and Reclamation. AYT has acquired 6000LPH Oil Reclamation/ Regeneration machine using reactivation technology from REDRAGON, Canada. This machine has the capability to regenerate/reclaim the aged or contaminated oil while the transformer is in operation or energized. This reduces the shut down time of the transformer. |

During the past decade, many transformers and reactors around the world have failed due to corrosive sulfide (cu2s). Transformer oil contains sulfur in elemental and/or in compound form. Some of the compounds and elements of sulfur are corrosive especially Dibenzyle Disulfide (DBDS). It discolors the copper and forms a conductive path .This reduces the dielectric strength of the oil which causes failure of transformer. AYT uses the reactivated absorbent to remove the DBDS and adds the antioxidant inhibiter like DBPC and passivator like (Irgamet-39) to increase the oxidation, stabilize the transformer oil and to reduce the attack of DBDS on copper conductors. |
